Get behind Bowel Cancer Awareness Month

In support of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, this week we highlight awareness of bowel cancer screening to local health professionals, patients and the broader western Sydney community.

For local health professionals Western Sydney HealthPathways has an extensive array of resources including those relating to: Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Positive Faecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT), Screening and Surveillance Colonoscopy, Family History - Screening for Colorectal Cancer, Colorectal Polyp Surveillance, Hereditary Bowel Disorders Surveillance, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Surveillance, Past Colorectal Cancer Colonoscopy Surveillance.

For patients and the community, information and resources can found on the Healthy Western Sydney website covering the following topics: Bowel Cancer Screening, Bowel Cancer Screening - Family History, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Surveillance, Inherited Bowel Cancer Syndromes, Past Bowel Cancer Colonoscopy Surveillance.

Moreover, the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP) is hosting a webinar for primary care nurses working in general practice. Developed by Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association, the one hour session will focus on bowel cancer screening and approachable methods with patients, click here for more information.
