Local health services this Easter

The Easter long weekend is one of the busiest times of year with extended waiting times at western Sydney hospital emergency departments. Access to the right care at this time of year is often restricted, with many general practices and allied health providers being closed on public holidays.

To help the community access appropriate care when their regular GP or allied health service is closed, we recently conducted an Easter long weekend operating hours survey. A full list of general practices open over this period is available online. A list of 24-hour helplines can also be found on our After Hours webpage.

There are a number of health and medical services who provide after hours care within western Sydney throughout the year. These include GPs, pharmacies and deputising services. Patients can find a local after hours GP or pharmacy by searching the National Health Services Directory at Medical deputising services can arrange a bulk-billed doctor to visit your patients at home during the after hours period. Available services in western Sydney include:

  • DoctorDoctor: 13 26 60
