WentWest Annual Review: Values in Practice

3,986 practice support visits, 240,415 My Health Record registrations, 258 events, 400 new HealthPathways – it was quite a year for WentWest and with the launch of this year’s Annual Review we have drawn together the many ways in which we are helping to drive change in health care across western Sydney.

This review highlights the many achievements that have been accomplished across the 2017/2018 year and recognises the extensive network of stakeholders and supporters, including the local community, primary care professionals and our many valued partners, who help make what we do possible.

The theme of this year’s review is Values in Practice. At WentWest we endeavour to integrate our five values – Respect, Leadership, Equity, Creativity and Excellence – into every aspect of our organisation. Whether it’s commissioning services, practice development, or our internal culture, this review demonstrates the many tangible ways we embody these values each and every day.

It was a year of great growth and innovation and we look forward to 2019 to continue our mission of working in partnership with our stakeholders to provide healthier communities, empowered individuals and a sustainable health care workforce and system.

WentWest Needs survey

As we work towards our vision of healthier communities, empowered individuals, sustainable health care workforces and systems, we need to create more integrated and co-ordinated health care services in western Sydney. You’re invited to have your say in the annual Needs Survey by completing one of two surveys:

NSW Christmas vaccine deliveries

Immunisation providers are advised of the following changes to routine vaccine deliveries over the Christmas holiday period. Vaccine orders should be submitted by 3:00pm Wednesday 19th December for delivery Friday 21st December. Routine deliveries will recommence from Wednesday 2nd January but can continue to be placed online during this period. A message has also been placed on the NSW Vaccine Centre online ordering webpage.

Improving health record quality in general practice

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners has published a new guide, Improving health record quality in general practice, which outlines what constitutes a high-quality record and how practices can put systems in place to ensure they produce health records that are fit for purpose.
